From Story County Watchman December 20, 1895

DIED.--In this city on Sunday morning last after an illness of some days, Wm. Pool, aged nearly 60 years. He was a native of Coshocton county, Ohio, and came to this county in 1865, and settled upon a farm near Johnsons' Grove, where he resided until he moved to Nevada several years since. In 1846 he was married to Miss Sarah McGonegil and they raised a family of six boys and three girls, who are left to mourn his loss. The funeral service were by Rev. Shrader of the Lutheran society who gave a good and appropriate discourse after which the remains were deposited in the cemetery at Johnsons' Grove, to await the coming morn. He was one of the study, honest and upright men of this section of counrty and always stood high in the esteem of all his friends and neighbors, all of whom are sorry to know that that the end has arrived and he is at rest.
