Slater News: ....Lars Ersland died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Lars Eide, Sunday morning, May 26, 1895. Mr. Ersland was born in Norway nearly 98 years ago and was undoubtedly the oldest living settler in this part of Story county. He emigrated to this country 23 years ago.
