Sunday evening while harnessing up his team preparatory to driving Henry Proctor, aged 64 years, was suddenly struck by palsy and soon breathed his last. He was a native of Barton, England, where he was married in 1854 and moved to Canada, and thence to Story County in 1876, and settled on his farm some six miles south of Nevada, where he resided up to this time. He was a good man, charitable and well disposed to all, and the neighborhood has lost a good citizen. He leaves a wife and three sons to mourn his loss. The funeral was held at the M. E. church on Tuesday forenoon, and was quite largely attended.
