Wednesday morning Mrs. Rachel Kirkendall died at the residence of her son Eli in the south-east part of this township at the age of 82 years. She was born in Ohio and came to Story County some 27 years ago and has made her home here since that time. She was known to all the older citizens as a lady of worth and stood high in their esteem. She left several sons to mourn her loss and to look forward to a furture beyond the river.
