From Story County Watchman March 25, 1892

Annie Armstrong Eccles, was born in Tyrone county, Ireland, was brought over by her parents to America when but a child. At new York City, in August of 1858, she became the wife of William Eccles, and a month later the two planted their home in Story county, Iowa, where, except for an interval of four years spent back in the Empire State, they have since remained. Two daughters and three sons have been reared by them to maturity, all of whom were privileged to aid their father in the brief illness of the faithful mother. She died as previously announced, on Wednesday last at the age of 52 and the funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon by her pastor, Rev. W. W. Danner, at the Methodist church. Friendship, affection and appreciation of christian worth, all found expression in a large attendance and choice floral offerings; while the pastor fittingly told of the noon tide glory of christian hope the rest that remaineth to the child, of God, and the obligation laid on those who enter into her labors.
