DIED.--On the 26th of Feb. at the residence of her son, E. F. Griffith, Mrs. Sarah Merriman Griffith, aged 79 years, the 6th of Oct. Sarah Merriman was born in Fayette county, Pa., moved to Wayne county, Ohio, thence to Porter County Ind. and in 1853 to Story county, Iowa, settling near Howard township, last spring she went to Kossuth county. She was married to Jonah Griffith, Jan. 1st 1834, in Wayne county, Ohio. She was he mother of ten children, five of whom are yet living. A. B. Griffith of Nevada, E. F. Griffith, of Kossuth county, N. H. Griffith, of Hardin county, and Mrs. Sarah Anderson of Clay County, Dak., and A. E. Griffith, of Mills county, Iowa. The funeral services were held at the Sheffield School House in Howard township on the first of March, the remains having been brough back for interment, beside her husband who died and was buried here fourteen years ago last April.
