From Story County Watchman May 30, 1890

DIED.--May 14th, 1890, at her home near Kelley, Mrs. Ella Hall. She was interred, wreathed in flowers in the Ontario Cemetery on Thursday afternoon following. Mrs. Hall was born in Michigan, Dec. 6th, 1859, and removed to Story County when quite young with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry Davis. In 1882 she married Albert Hall. At the age of fifteen she united with the Baptist Church of Ames. She had been ill for more than a year with that dread disease consumption, but bore her suffering patiently saying to her mother a short time before her death, "I long to go and be at rest." She trusted in Jesus. She leaved a husband, two small children, father, mother, brother and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her loss. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Kelley conducted by Rev. Mr. Wilson.

"She hath been sick a weary while,
The hectic flushes on her cheek,
Flutter like dying sunsets smile,
Around some lofty mountain peak.

The golden shadows of the days,
Have sunk in blackest night afar,
Yet on her gloom, there fails the rays
Of Jesus, the eternal Star."
