D. S. Snyder, who has been sick for months past was called to that realm beyond the skied on Wednesday at 2:30 p. m. He has lived in this place several years and was well known to all as a man of probity and whose word was as good as his bond. He leaves wife and grown up children to mourn his loss. The funeral will take place from his late residence at one o'clock to-day under the directions of Nevada Lodge No. 99 A. F. & A. M., of which he was a member.

Obituary.
David S. Snyder, who departed this life a his home in this city last Wedneday, February 6, 1889, was born in Orrstown, Franklin county, Pennsylvania, April 10, 1826. When a young man he left the state of his birth and located at Gambier and Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Thence in 1869 he came to Nevada, Iowa, where he has since married, the first marriage taking place in 1849 and the second in 1863. His second wife and eight children, most of them grown to worthy manhood and womanhood, survive him. In his fellowship relations he was an honored brother in the Masonic and Odd Fellow fraternities, and for 40 years an exemplay member of the Methodist church. The sickness which caused his death was of about five months duration, and was borne with becoming fortitude. Mr. Snyder during his twenty years residence in Nevada won the sincere resprect of his fellow citizens who depolre his loss and extend sympathy to his wife and children.
At the meeting of Nevada Lodge No. 99 A. F. & A. M., the following resolutions were adopted and entered upon the minutes of the Lodge;
Whereas, The Supreme Architect of the Universe in his infinite wisdom has called our esteemed brother David S. Snyder from the lodge here below to that undisolving lodge on high, therefore, be it
Resolved, That in his death Nevada Lodge No. 99 A. F. & H. M., has lost a consistent and exemplary member, his family a devoted husband and father, the community as good and honorable citizen.
That we mourn the decease of our departed brother and deeply sympathize with his family in their sad bereavement.
That the Lodge be draped in mourning for thirty days in respect to his memory.
That these resolutions be spread upon the records of the Lodge, and published in each of the local newspapers and a copy presented to the family of the deceased.

WHEREAS, In view of the loss we have sustained by the decease of our brother, David S. Snyder, and of the heavier loss sustained by those who were nearest and dearest to him, therefore be it
Resolved, That we sincerely condole with the family of the deceased on the dispensation with which it had pleased Divine Providence to afflict them, and commend them for consolation to Him sho orders all things for the best, and whose chastisements are meant in mercy.
That this heartfelt testimonial of our sympathy and sorrow be forwarded to the family of our departed brother, and
That these resolutions be spread upon the records of the Lodge, and a copy thereof be transmitted to the family of our deceased brother, and to each of the newspapers of Nevada.
