DIED.--Aug. 26, 1888. At the residence of C. H. and M. A. Jackson, three miles west of Nevada, of consumption, Effie May Jackson. She was born in Wapello Co., Iowa, Sept. 1873, and therefore was almost 15 years old at the time of her death. When about 6 years of age she met with a painful accident, which caused the loss of her eyesight. She was sent in due time to State Institution at Vinton, when she made rapid progress in her studies. She was especially good in music. She came home sometime ago unwell, and rapidly went down with quick consumption. She was of a very sweet disposition, and universally liked. Her death was happy and triumphant. The funeral was conducted by Rev. R. A. Ferguson, after which the remains were interred in the Nevada cemetery.
