From Story County Watchman May 25, 1888
DIED.--Of heart disease, Monday at 9:30 p. m. Anthony Hicks, after an illness of a few days. The bereaved family have the sympathy of neighbors and friends.

Gone beyond the Mystic river,
Borne by Angels pure white wing;
The thought that he is safe with Jesus,
Takes from insidious death its sting.

Afflicted wife, and sons and daughters,
He has but laid the burden down;
Smiled he sweetly, when our Savior,
Changed his cross into a crown.
