From Story County Watchman March 2, 1888

Grandma Markle, mother of Mrs. John Jory, two and a half miles east of town died Saturday. She was 83 years old, loved by all who knew her and we fully believe prepared to meet her God. The remains were taken to Illinois for interment. Mrs. Jory and family have the sympathy of all who know them.
