From Story County Watchman December 17, 1886

DIED.--Mr. Geo. Olinger, at his residence on Monday morning 6th inst., about 12:30 a. m. His last days were of much suffering, a tumor having grown in one of the tonsils eventually stopped respiration. The bereaved have the heartfelt sympathy of the community for the loss of a good and kind husband and father. Mr. Olinger was in his 41 year.

Geo. W. Olinger, who died to of typhoid fever at Maxwell on the 6th inst., was buried the next day, the funeral being attended by a large concourse of people. The sermon was preached by Rev. R. A. Ferguson, Revs. Smith, Brubaker, and Allison, taking part in the services.
