Obituary.

Hannah Valentine daughter and eldest child of Francis and Julia De Long, was born March 11, 1816, at Friendship, Genesee Co., N. Y. In 1822 she moved with her parents to Deerfield township, Warren Co., Penn. She was married to Edmund Valentine in 1828. In 1855 she with her husband moved near Gennessee, Ill. The moved to Iowa in 1874 and settled in Mitchelville where her husband died. Mrs. Valentine was a devoted wife and mother. She is the mother of twelve children, four boys and eight girls all living. At the age of eleven she was converted and united with the M. E. church. She lived a devoted and consistant life and died Sept. 2nd at the residence of her son-in-law Mr. N. Dunklebarger. The funeral was conducted by Rev. A. T. Jeffry and was attended with a large circle of friends. The remains were taken to Mitchellville for burial beside her husband to await the resurrection morn.
