From Story County Watchman January 8, 1886
Mrs. Mary G. O'Donnell, formerly Miss Mary G. Wilson, died at her sisters in Mapleton, Iowa, Jan 1st, 1886, at 1:30 p. m., after a long, tedious and suffering illness. She was nearing 26 years of age, and left 2 small boys--say 3 1/2 and 5 years respectively. She had been a resident of Nevada during the most of her life, but for a few years lately lived in Hastings, Nebraska, to which place she was taken for burial which occured on Jan. 4, 1886.
She seemed ready to go, ah, anxious to go, if living to suffer was her only hope on earth. It was nevertheless sad to her to leave 2 small children and a husband behind. She was married at Nevada, Jan. 22nd, 1879, to Mr. E. C. O'Donnell then of Nevada, Iowa. W. G. A.
