SUICIDE.--On Tuesday afternoon word was brought to town that Mrs. J. N. Carr had taken poison and was about dead. A doctor hurried to the place but it had too much the start to make aid effective. It appears that she had taken a solution of corrosive subliminate in quantity sufficient to kill several persons. After lingering several hours she died. A postmortem examination was held by Coroner Hostetter with the result above stated. It appears she had been under a spell on meloncholy for some time and it is thought she did the deed while under a temporary fit of insanity, as there is no good reason for such an act. Her age was about 40 years. She leaves a husband and three children at home, and one married daughter. She had always been a good neighbor and stood well with them and the report came to them with a stunning force.
