A little child of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sorter, died a few days since and Mr. Anway, father-in-law of Mrs. Sorter, went to Mr. J. D. Brezeley, and asked permission to have J. N. White, of Edenville, preach the funeral sermon in the M. E. Church. Mr. as trustee, answered, Oh no! we can't let Mr. White preach a funeral sermon in our church for he is not Orthodox. A great many of the citizens do not understand why it is orthodox to ask them to largely aid in building this church, and pay a good share of the expenses each year, and then have them answered that it is contrary to the rules.
