On Sunday night last Squire M. Cory, living just north of Ames died from Brights disease. He was born June 22d, 1812, and settled at Ballard's Grove, in this county, in 1850. He was therefore one of the oldest settlers in the county was well known as such, and as one of the most jovial persons in the community. His death takes from us another of those that were among the first to aid in developing the county to its present state of properity.
