OBITUARY OF DAKE AYERS

Farmer Nevada Man Buried at Thief River Falls

Funeral Services for Dake W. Ayers, 51, former Nevada Man, who died at Thief River Falls, Minn, June 12, were held there June 15 and were attended by a number of relatives from the city.

Mr. Ayers was born near Nevada, Iowa March 9, 1877 and died June 12, 1928 having reached the age of 51 years 3 months and 3 days. On April 10, 1907 he was united in marriage to Sadie E. Taylor at Colo. This union was blessed with five children all of whom with his wife are left to mourn the loss of a living husband and father. Mr. Ayers lived near Nevada all his life until in the spring of 1910 when he moved to Freeborn . In the spring of 1917 he with his family moved to Pennington county onto his own farm which he purchased near Thief River Falls, and where he resided until the time of his death.

Mr. Ayers had been in very poor health since having pneumonia last November, about a month ago he suffered a very severe attack of the flu from which he never recovered, but grew weaker until God in mercy relieved him of his suffering at one o'clcok on Tuesday, June 12, 1928. Although he suffered greatly his faith in God never wavered and he died believing that all things work together for the good to those that love the Lord.

Mr. Ayers never lacked for friends as he was always a friend himself and always ready and willing to lend a helping hand whenever there was an opportunity to do so. His passing away saddened the hearts of all who knew him and he will be sadly missed by all and especially so in the community where he lived and in his home where he was a devoted husband and father.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife, and 5 children, Eva 20, Ardis 18, Eldred 15, Iris 9, and Dake W. Jr. 6. Five brothers and one sister, Ivan, Emmett and Sam of Nevada, Charles of Wells, Minn, James of Park Rapids, MN and Mrs. J. A. Taylor of St. James Minn, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Those from a distance to attend the funeral were Ivan Ayers and Sam Ayers, Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Ayers and James Taylor of Nevada, Mrs. J. A. Taylor of St. James, Minn, W. H. Taylor and S. J. Taylor, Mrs. and Mrs. M. R. McColley of Staples, Minn and Mrs. George Raimer and sons Ralph and Max of Hartland, Minn. The floral offering were many and beautiful. Funeral services were held from the Presbyterian church at Thief River Falls on Friday, June 15, at two o'clock. Rev. Hanson officiating. Interment was made in a lovely little cemetery just west of Thief River Falls near h is home.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family in their time of sorrow.
