From Story County Watchman June 18, 1880

It is again our sad duty to announce the death of a fine, noble, man and citizen. Charles B. Maxwell died at Clyde on Saturday last at 5 o'clock and was buried at this place on Sunday. The sermon was preached by Rev. Rosenberger. The death was sudden, and unlooked for and he was cut down in the prime of life.

Charles B. Maxwell is a son of the Hon. George Maxwell of Cambridge. He was a man in every sense of the word honorable, honest, jovial, kind hearted and true to a friend. It has been said and well may it have been that he had not a single enemy. He leaves a wife and two children who have the heart felt sympathy of the entire community.

HANS.
