From Story County Watchman January 2, 1880
DIED--In Nevada, Dec. 21, of pleurisy, Charles Brigham, aged about 75 years.
In Nevada, Dec. 29, of pleurisy, Mrs. E. W. Brigham aged 65 years.
Death has been unusually busy in this vicinity lately, taking both the husband and wife in the above instance, there being but eight days difference in the time when they expired. Both of them were well known among the inhabitants of this city, Mrs. Brigham having lived here since 1856. She was a woman of many good traits of character, and was esteemed by those who knew her. She was so low when her husband passed away that they dared not tell her of his death and she died without knowing that he preceded her.
Mr. Brigham was an eccentric man, but his peculiarities did not hide his good impulses and good traits of character. Both of the deceased were Spiritualists, and have doubtless met in the great beyond ere this if their belief is true.
They leave one child, G. E. Brigham, upon whom the burden falls heavily. He receives the sympathy of this community in this his hour of bereavement.
