James D. Peterson, 85, of Story City died October 10, 2010 at his home in Story City. Memorial services were held Thursday October 14, 2010 at 10:30 am at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City. Inurnment was in Callendar Cemetery, Callendar, Iowa.

James was born in August 2, 1925 in Callendar, Iowa to Lucian and Mae (Hasty) Peterson. He married Lois Mosel on August 28, 1955 in Callendar, Iowa. Jim worked as an insurance adjuster for many years. Jim and Lois moved to Story City in 1960. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, working on cars, RV ing and Maytag gas engines. Jim was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church and a US Navy veteran of World War II.

Jim is survived by his wife Lois of Story City; three sons, Joel (Cindy) of Peoria, Illinois, Daniel (Olga) of Plano, Texas and Philip (Brenda) of Huntington Beach, California; a brother, Lucian Eugene Peterson of Marshalltown and a sister, Mary Anschutz of Denver, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his, parents; a brother, Thomas and a sister, Eleanor. Soderstrum Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.'
