THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, November 12, 2010.
Gordon Hove, 79, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at Stratford Care Center. A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall.
Gordon Hove was born July 10, 1931, at rural Stanhope, to Amil and Gertrude (Ellsworth) Hove. He married Lois Jean Okland Nov. 21, 1953. He served his country during the Korean War from 1951 through 1953.
Survivors include his wife, Lois; sons, Gary and Roxanne Hove, of Randall, and Randy and Marcia Hove, of rural Jewell; grandchildren, Amy and Brad Stoermer, of Ankeny, Tracy and friend Rob Thomas, of Story City, Brandon and Abby Hove, of Lisbon, and Garrett Hove, of West Des Moines, and his fiancée, Kelsee Huisman, of Omaha, Neb.; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Keatyn Brandner, Ashlyn and Halle Stoermer, and Gavin and Fletcher Hove. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth and Alvin Johnson, of Lincolnshire, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Hove; and sister-in-law, Doris Hove.
Memorials may be directed to Israel Hospice House in Ames or Elim Lutheran Church in Randall.
