THE TRI-COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, November 4, 2010.

Donald L. Wilson, 69, of Cambridge passed away Friday, October 29, 2010, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Donald was born December 9, 1940, to Ernest and Velma (Griffin) Wilson. He married Karen Eberhardt on January 15, 1960, in Des Moines. Don lived in Cambridge a good part of his life. While living there, he served as a Scout Master/Webelo Leader, City Councilman, Mayor pro-tem and Mayor. Donald was an active Mason, volunteer fireman and first responder. He retired from Sears, and then went to work for the Des Moines Register and Hy-Vee. Donald was an umpire for the Cambridge Girls Softball League and was an avid fisherman.

Donald is survived by his wife of 50 years, Karen; two daughters, Robin (Shawn) Jensen and Tracy (Bob) Muhlenburg; four grandchildren, Cassie, Whitney, Jesse Muhlenburg and Autumn Jensen; three great-grandchildren, Tyreese, Kwinten and Ethan; his mother, Velma Lewin; two brothers, Jerry and John.

He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Mary Dodge.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at the Cambridge United Methodist Church, with Pastor Andrea Severson officiating; interment followed at the Cambridge Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cambridge Fire Department.

Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada handled arrangements.
