Walter L. Hilburn

Walter Lee Hilburn was born May 25, 1899 in Richland township, Story county, Iowa and died at the Iowa Sanitarium at Nevada June 18, 1915, age 16 years and 24 days. His death followed an operation which at first promised well. He was a youth of most estimable type and was a member of the Lutheran church at Fernald. He leaves to mourn his death his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. J. C. Hilburn, two sisters and four brothers, besides many other relatives and friends. The funeral was conducted Sunday afternoon by his pastor, Rev. A. J. Kissell in the Lutheran church at Fernald in the presence of a multitude of sypathizing friends and neighbors. The remains were interred in the Murphey cemetery at Johnson's Grove.
