Jeffrey Jarnagin Bowers, 30 of Nevada died on Monday, October 4, 2010. Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9 at the Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th Street in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial will be held in the Murphy Cemetery in rural Nevada.
Jeff was born on April 25, 1980 in Ames. He was a 1999 Nevada High School graduate and a graduate of DMACC with a general studies degree. On July 30, 2004, Jeff married Kylie Erin Kingsbury in West Des Moines. He was employed at Bethany Manor in Story City. Jeff enjoyed playing video games, being outdoors, and remodeling homes.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Kylie Bowers and their son Kyson; parents, Patricia and Hal Long, all of Nevada; 2 brothers, Ben (Molly) Long and their children Nick, Maria, and Anna of Urbandale and Ryan (Jenny) Bowers of Waukee and their children Shannon and Alexa; a sister Corey Bowers of Woodinville, WA; step mother Diane Bowers of Woodinville, WA; 2 grandmothers, Bonnie Kingsbury of Boone and Pauline Breer of Colo; parents-in-law, Ron and Jean Kingsbury of Nevada and Margo and Norm Wibholm of State Center; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tadd (Anna) Kingsbury and their children Aiden, Anika, and Xavier of Colo, Erin (Justin) Silence of Rhodes, Travis Wibholm of Melbourne, and Alexandrea Ackerman of Ankeny.
Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Galyn and Erma Ruth Wilson in 2001 and Wilbert “Red” Breer on January 26, 2001, and Carroll Kingsbury.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 9 from 11:00 a.m.- 12:30 pm in the chapel of the Memorial Lutheran Church.
A memorial fund has been established for his son Kyson.
Chet Ryan Mortuary has been entrusted with the care of Jeff and his family.
