THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, September 24, 2010.
Reg Holley Mehus, 65, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene in Waterloo, with Rev. Mike Collins officiating. A time of fellowship will immediately follow the memorial service at the church. Private inurnment will be at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
Reg Holley Mehus was born Oct. 22, 1944, in Boone, the son of Arthur and Evelyn (Holley) Mehus. He worked at the John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo for nearly 30 years.
On April 23, 1989, he married Leila McManus at Waterloo. Reg enjoyed fishing, woodworking and feeding the birds. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Leila, of Waterloo; children, Michelle Anderson (John), of Nevada, and Melissa Mehus, of Waterloo; stepchildren, Todd Millermon, of Waterloo, Alan Millermon (Wendy), of Silverdale, Wash., Jodi Canfield (Les), of Waterloo, and Tonya Heidemann, of Waterloo. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Reg was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be given in his name to the Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene, 3622 Hammond Ave., Waterloo, Iowa 50702.
