DIED - In this city on the 26th of July W. R. Woodard, aged 98 years 7 months and 16 days. Mr. Woodard was a native of Washington County, Ohio, coming to Iowa in 1844 where he has resided the most of the time. In 1852 he was married Miss Margaret Hillery. In 1863 they moved to a farm in Richland township and resided there until they moved into Nevada a few years since. Mrs. W. survives him and is still with us here. Mr. W. was one of the good men of the coummunity and his loss will be a hard one for more than one in this locality and all trust that many may follow the good example set by him during his life Last week we referred to an accident to him by falling from a stroke of paralysis which being the second one he never rallied from and the end found him resigned to the will of the creator. The last rites were held under the direction of Rev. Blackman assisted by Rev. Elwell of the Baptist church of which he had long been a devoted and honored member.
