THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, September 2, 2010.

Everett V. Anderson, 99, of Story City, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Burial will be in Story City Cemetery.

Visitation will be an hour before the service at Bethany Manor.

Everett was born May 18, 1911, in Story City, to Lauritz and Anna (Peterson) Anderson. He married Garnette Mohler July 8, 1934. She died May 1, 2005. He was Postmaster in Story City from 1946 to 1972.

He is survived by one daughter, Carole (Lee) Nield, of Evergreen, Colo.; one son, Rick (Betty) Anderson, of McPherson, Kan.; one daughter-in-law, Cathy Anderson, of Upland, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one son, Keith; and one brother, Roscoe.

Soderstrum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
