THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, August 17, 2010.

Lavonne Bark, 85, of Ames, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at home of complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Adams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Gilbert Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Gilbert Cemetery.

LaVonne was born Jan. 3, 1925, to George and Dorothy (Hall) Clouser. She lived in the Gilbert area and graduated from Gilbert High School. She worked as the school secretary for many years. On Nov. 9, 1945, she married Daniel Pepper. They had three children, Marty, Gloria and Danise.

On Oct. 4, 1964, she married Richard Bark. They lived in Early and Nemaha where Richard was a teacher. She also worked as a school secretary at the Crestland Schools. In 1974, they moved to Ames.

She enjoyed sewing, cooking, camping, oil painting, playing the organ, working in the flower garden, visiting family in Colorado and spending time with grandkids and great-grandkids.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Bark; one daughter, Gloria Clouser; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She is also survived by one brother, Gerald (Pat) Clouser; one sister, Lucille Watson; and half-sister, Marlene (Paul) Wiegel.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel Pepper; one son, Marty Pepper; one daughter, Danise (Mel) Paulson; one granddaughter, Christina Clouser; two brothers, Kenneth and Norman Clouser; and one son-in-law, Galen Clouser.

Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
