THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, August 21, 2010.
Toni Marie Robinson, 52, of Huxley, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Aug. 20, 2010, following a courageous battle with cancer. A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Stevens Memorial Chapel, in Ames. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 411 Third Ave., in Slater. A luncheon will follow at United Methodist Church, 401 Story St., in Slater.
Toni Robinson was born Feb. 24, 1958, in Ames, to Donald and Joyce (DeButts) Martin. She married Michael Robinson April 10, 1987, in Kelley. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kelley.
Toni’s life was devoted to her family. She was a patient, compassionate and loving mother to her three children. Her grandsons, Carter and Cade, were her special treasures. She loved being involved in all aspects of their lives. Over the years, she was an active volunteer for her children’s schools. She was a member of Bethany Church, Dollars for Scholars, ABWA and the Huxley Tree Board. She was a licensed practical nurse and a partner with her husband, Mike, in their family business, MTR Properties. She and Mike loved to travel, spend time with their family and were avid ISU fans. She was Mike’s best friend.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Robinson, of Huxley; daughter, Jennifer (Luke) Bland, and their sons, Carter and Cade, of Ankeny; son, Matthew (fiancée Bobbi Morgan) Robinson, of Ames; daughter, Sara Robinson, of Huxley; mother, Joyce Martin, of Melbourne; two brothers, Todd (Ann) Martin, of Ames, and Tom (Kathy) Martin, of Gilbert; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good supportive friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Ballard Dollars for Scholars as a perpetual memorial in Toni’s name.
