Father Of College Instructor Is Dead

Paul Quintus, 89, father of Paul E. Quintus, instructor of agricultural economics at Iowa State college, died at his home in Garner, Ia., Saturday. He had been ill for several months. The funeral will be held Tuesday.

Mr. Quintus was well-known among farmers for the self-feeding apparatus for threshing machines he invented several years ago. This device is said to have been the first of its kind to be widely used. For some time Mr. Quintus had operated threshing machine rigs in Hancock county.

Two other sons and three daughters survive.
