Huxley Man Struck down, Killed by Car

HUXLEY - Lars Fjelland, 57, Huxley resident, was instantly killed Thurdsday at 6:40 p. m. when he was struck by the car driven by Sherrill Lande, also of Huxley.

Fjelland, who was employed as section foreman for the Ft. Dodge Des Moines and Southern railroad company, was walking east from Main street towards highway 65 when the accident occurred.

An inquest was held here Friday afternoon. No funeral arrangements have been made as yet.

Surviving Fjelland are his wife and nine children, Ernest, Harold, Martin, Gertrude, Selma, Sarah and Mrs. Morris Osborn, all of Huxley; Mrs. Francis Nervig, Slater; Gladys, Des Moines. Two sisters, Mrs. Anna Towell, Winachi, Wash., and Maudie, Evanston, Ill., also survive.

Services For Man Killed At Huxley To Be Held Mon.

HUXLEY - Funeral services for Lars Fjelland, 57, who was struck and instantly killed by an automobile Thursday as he was walking east along the road near here to highway 65, will be held Monday at 2 p. m., in the Fjeldburg church. The Rev. J. N. Anderson will have charge of the service. Burial will be in the Fjeldburg cemetery.

The death was pronounced accidental Friday by a coroner's jury called to investigate.

Fjelland is survived by his wife and nine children.
