COUNTY PIONEER DEAD AT MAXWELL
MAXWELL - Wilbur Warner, 63, Story county pioneer, died at the home of his brother, M. D. Warner, early Tuesday morning. His death was caused by cancer. He had been in failing health for some time.
Mr. Warner was born on a farm at Center Grove, near Elwell and had lived in Maxwell community most of his life. He was married to Ida Bewell in 1901, and the couple continued on a farm until Mrs. Warner's death in 1904. Two years after the death of his wife, Mr. Warner moved to Minnesota but returned to Maxwell about eight years ago and had been farming there since.
He is survived by his brothers, M. D. of Maxwell, John of Santa Barbara, Cal., and Howard of Redwood City, Cal.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 in the Methodist Episcopal church at Maxwell. Burial will be in the Maxwell cemetery.
