Lester H. Hagen of Ames Is Dead

Lester H. Hagen, 44, 117 Washington St., died about 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mary Greeley Hospital where he had been a patient since Nov. 27.

Born in Milford Township, he came to Ames in 1936. He had been in construction work here.

He was a member of the American Legion and was a veteran of World War II.

He and Jean Secoy were married Sept. 12, 1936, in Ames. She survives, along with two brothers, Martin of Ames and Jeffery of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Agnes and Annie, both of Ames and his mother, Mrs. Ellen Hagen, Ames. Two brothers, Elmer and Annis preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Adams Funeral Home. The Rev. A. E. Wilken, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren church will officiate. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories section of the Ames Municipal Cemetery. Graveside services will be in charge of the American Legion.
