THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, July 16, 2010.

Thomas J. “TJ” Reinsch, 37, of Brandon, S.D., formerly of Sioux City and Ames, passed away Wednesday June 23, 2010, at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D., following complications from an autoimmune disease, Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP). Services have been held and burial was in Sioux City.

TJ was born June 22, 1973, in Ames, the son of Steven H. and Becky L. Reinsch. He lived in Ames through sixth grade when he moved to Sioux City with his parents. He graduated form Bishop Heelan High School, Class of 1991. He attended Iowa State University and graduated from Bellevue University with a degree in business. On June 20, 2003, he married Laura A. Nemesio in Elk Point, S.D. His employment included Gateway Computer company, First Premier Bank in Sioux Falls, S.D., and lastly at EMC in Omaha, Neb. TJ had just started a new position with EMC and was very excited about his new opportunity with them.

TJ played hockey from the time he was 5 years old and living in Ames. He continued after the family moved to Sioux City, playing for the Sioux City Metros and various select elite teams throughout the Midwest. TJ went on to play briefly for the Sioux City Musketeers and the Iowa State Cyclones. From the time TJ quit playing hockey competitively, he started coaching youth hockey. He coached in Sioux City, San Diego, Calif., and most recently in Sioux Falls, S.D. He was instrumental in getting the Sioux Falls Flyers into the Midwest High School Hockey League. He coached the Flyers into the Midwest State Tournament in their first year which had never been done before by a first-year team. All of his coaching was done on a volunteer basis.

Left to celebrate his life and cherish his memories are his wife, Laura, daughter, Olivia, and son, Jack, all of Brandon, S.D.; his parents, Steve and Becky Reinsch, of Sioux City; sister, Stephanie Brown and her husband, Bill, of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; grandparents, Olive Batman, of Story City, and Raymond and Roselyn Reinsch, of Las Vegas, Nev.; mother-in-law, Patti Nemesio, of Sioux City; sister-in-law, Lisa Wolf and husband, Rick, of Carrollton Texas; brother-in-law, Tony Nemesio and wife, Teresa, of Akron, Iowa; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Frank A Batman.
