THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, July 2, 2010.
Leona Clouser, 86, formerly of Ames, died July 1, 2010, at The Madrid Home. A visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at Stevens Memorial Chapel, in Ames, and the memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, also at Stevens Memorial Chapel, in Ames. A private inurnment will be at a later date.
Leona Clouser was born March 9, 1924, in Boone County to Andrew and Clara Mindemann. She married Robert L. Clouser on July 21, 1943. They farmed near Ames until the mid-1970s. She was a bookkeeper for Ames Fruit and Grocery for several years. She was a member of Ames Women’s Club.
She is survived by daughter, Jan (Kenny) Nelson, of Slater; son, Michael (Susie) Clouser, of West Des Moines; four grandchildren, Mark (Angie) Clouser, of Clive, Scott (Amanda) Clouser, of Johnston, Kim (Jason) Hambly, of Vinton, and Todd (Nicole) Jorgensen, of Gilbert; five great-grandchildren; sister, Marge (Gordon) Sundberg, of Eagle Grove; and brother, Kenneth “Jocko” (Penny) Mindemann, of Gilbert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Raymond Mindemann.
