THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, June 24, 2010.
Marilyn J. Williams, 75, of Ames, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at Community Methodist Church in Ogden.
Marilyn was born in Chicago to John and Agnes (Heffernan) Gurganus. She attended Hurst High School in Chicago before moving to Spokane, Wash., and graduating from Lewis and Clark High School.
She married John Williams in 1954. She worked in the telephone company in Spokane and then worked as a sales clerk in Fort Dodge and Ames.
John and Marilyn lived in Ogden for several years and then moved to Fort Dodge in 1964. In 1984, they moved to Ames where they later retired. Marilyn was a member of IA DK of TTT Chapter and First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John; two daughters, Cindy (Greg) Breeden, and Dana (Darwin) Beschorner, of Farnhamville; one son, Chris (Faith) Williams, of Fort Dodge; five grandchildren, Ben Beschorner, of Callender, Amy (Clint) Stuntz, of Waukee, Becky Beschorner, of Waterloo, A/1C Tommy (Kristy) Williams, stationed in England, and Tiffany (Eric) Bradfield, of Fort Dodge; and one great-granddaughter, Hailey Williams.
