THE TRI-COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, June 3, 2010.

Charlotte Darlene Gillman, 85, of Slater, died Monday, May 31, 2010 at the Madrid Home.

She was born September 22, 1924, at Des Moines to William Ellsworth and Mary Jane (Lankford) Speck. She was the youngest of 19 children. She married Guy Gillman on Aug. 1, 1947, in Fort Dodge. She lived as a caring and loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include four children: Karen (Gary) Martin of Perry, Linda Good of Madrid, Guyneth (Leonard) Hatfield of Slater and Roberta (Dennis) Johnson of Newton; 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy, in 1994; five sisters; and 13 brothers.

Visitation is being held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home, 101 Benton St., Slater. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 4, at 10:30 a.m. at Soderstrum-Riis Funeral Home with Dr. George Lair officiating. Burial will be at the Bethlehem Cemetery.
