THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, June 4, 2010.

Charlotte Covell and her son, Scott, were killed in a private plane crash Saturday, May 29, 2010, near Tulsa, Okla.

Charlotte was the daughter of Lester and Ethel Martin. She graduated from Gilbert High School. She married Ken Covell and lived most of her life near Tulsa, Okla. She was active after retiring as a licensed practical nurse and enjoyed volunteering, biking and flying.

She is survived by one son, David (Vicki) Covell, of Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Ione Milligan, of Kearney, Neb.; one niece, Marilyn (Bill) Barrie, of Ames; and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken; one son, Mike; and one sister, Mary York.
