Eunice A. Duea, 91, 1314 237th St., Ventura, Iowa died Monday, May 10, 2010 at her home.

A funeral service was held Thursday, May 13, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, Iowa with Rev. Dean Hess officiating. Visitation was Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Ward-Van Slyke, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, Iowa and one hour before the service at the church. Interment was at 2:30 p.m. at the Roland Cemetery in Roland. Memorials may be given to the Eunice Duea Memorial Fund to be used for the Zion Do Days and Clear Lake Senior Center.

Eunice was born July 14, 1918 in Gilbert, the daughter of Raymond and Ruby (York) Fincham. She graduated from Gilbert High School and attended Iowa State College. Eunice married Joseph Duea September 25, 1938 in Gilbert. To this union four children were born. Eunice, while being a housewife and mother, assisted her husband in farming and raising purebred cattle and hogs. She was a 4-H member and leader.

She enjoyed gardening, baking and reading. Eunice was active at church doing quilting, Bible study with Joy Circle, Elderberries. She participated at Clear lake Senior Center and enjoyed playing cards there. She also enjoyed watching sporting events including NASCAR and her great grandchildren's activities.

Eunice is survived by her four children; Alan Duea and his wife Chris, Clear Lake, Iowa, Carolyn Coe and her husband Bill, Ventura, Iowa, Steve Duea and his wife Kathy, Mankato, Minnesota and Joe Duea and his wife Angela, Gurnee, Illinois; eight grandchildren Daphne (Gary) Feekes, Dustin Duea and friend Jesslyn Hall, Eric (Judi) Coe, Colette (Michael) Sampson, Aaron (Angela) Coe, Ben (JoAnn) Duea, Kyle (Jackie) Duea, Nicole (Shane) Youell; two step-grandchildren Jessie Arias and Jenny Arias; fifteen great-grandchildren Felicia and Allorie Feekes, Emannuelle Hall, Nick and Jennifer Coe, Clayton, Kacy and Claire Sampson, Rylen Coe, Francesca, Alex and Blake Duea, and Georgia Rae, Stella Blue and Layla Rose Youell; brother Dick Fincham and his wife Anita, of Ames; four nieces and families, Debra, Janice, Leanne and Linda.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Ruby and her husband Joe, (May 24, 1996).
