Death of Margrette Egenes

Mrs. Margretta Egenes, of Story City, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 1911, at the advanced age of nearly 82 years. The deceased was born in Norway, but came to this country when thirty years of age and settled at Lisbon, Ill, where she was later married to Andrew G. Egenes, coming at once to Iowa, settling on a farm north of McCallsburg. Here they lived until the husband's health began to fail and they moved to Story City. Mr. Egenes died three years ago. She is survived by two children, Mrs. T. O. Johnson, living north of McCallsburg and John Egenes, of Story City, besides numerous relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held from St. Petri church on the following Thursday, Rev. O. P. Vangsnes preaching the funeral sermon after which the remains were laid to rest in the Story City cemetery.
