Mrs. Paul H. Hayland Passes Away

They death of Mrs. Paul Hayland took place at nine o'clock last Sunday morning, after being sick for several months. The funeral is being held today from Zion church, northeast of here where interment will also take place. The obituary will appear next week.

Mrs. Hayland Laid to Rest

The Funeral of Mrs. Paul H. Hayland Was Conducted Last Thursday From Zion Church, Rev. Sandven Preaches Sermon

The funeral of Mrs. Paul H. Hayland was held form Zion church, northeast of here, last Thursday afternoon, a very large number of relatives and other friends of the deceased being present to pay their last respects to a respected friend. Rev. J. N. Sandven preached the funeral sermon, after which the remains were interred in the cemetery by the church.

Miss Martha Raymond was born in Kendall County, Illinois, February 12, 1865, and when by a young girl came west with her parents settling on a farm south of Roland. Here she grew to womanhood later being joined in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr. Paul H. Hayland. The deceased has lived in this community nearly all her life and at the time of her death she was 46 years, 10 months and 9 days. The cause of her death, which occurred on Sunday, December 31st, was cancer, and everything that medical aid and care could do, was done for her, but to no avail.

Besides her husband, she leaves one brother, A. J. Raymond, and three sisters Mrs. Olai Jorstad, of Lakefield, Minn., Mrs. O. K. Teig, of Randall; Miss Julia Raymond of Des Moines, besides numerous other relatives and friends.

The deceased was one of the highly respected ladies of this community and will for a long time be missed in her social circle besides in the work of Zion church, where she was an active member. The Record extends its sympathy to the sorrowing husband in the hour of his grief.
