John Harnden Died Thursday

Former Resident of Milford Township Passes Away at Home in Gilbert on Thursday Evening. Funeral Held Sunday.

John P. Harnden, of Gilbert, passed away last Thursday evening, the cause of his demise being heart trouble. The deceased was born in Massachusetts about 71 years ago, but as a young man moved to the west, finally settling on a farm four miles southwest of Roland, where he lived until a few years ago, when he retired and moved to Gilbert. For several years, he has been taken sick during the fall, but has each time recovered but this time his heart was affected and he passed away as above stated.

He leaves his wife, one son, E. H. Harnden, who lives on the old homestead, two daughters, Mrs. John Hill and Mrs. H. P. Sawyer, both of Gilbert, to mourn his death. The funeral was held on Sunday from Pleasant Grove, after which interment took place in the cemetery near by.

Mr. Harnden was one of the prosperous farmers of this community and was always found looking on the bright side of life, being ever ready to greet his many friends with a hearty hand shake. He has many friends here, who will be pained to learn of his demise.
