Fern (Henrickson) Olson, age 89, of Big Lake, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the New River Medical Center of Monticello. Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 25 at 4 p.m. at the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel in Monticello, Minnesota.

Fern was born July 26, 1920 near Jewell, Iowa, the oldest daughter of Nels C. and Evelyn (Ferguson) Henrickson. She married Kermit H. Olson on April 18, 1936 and he preceded her in death.

She lived in Iowa, moved to California in 1953 and in 1981 moved to Big Lake, Minnesota. She enjoyed sewing of all kinds, cooking and a good card game.

Fern is survived by her daughter, Shirley Maxey and husband Jerry of Anaheim, California; son Jerry Olson and wife Carol of Fifty Lakes, Minnesota; sister Tiny (Maxine) Terry of Centralia, Illinois; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant brother Harold and an older brother Howard, and sister Twyle McFee.
