Mrs. Anna (Jonsdatter) Olson was born in Norway March 25, 1845 and when still a young girl she came to this country to make her home. On February 4, 1870 she was united in marriage to Jacob N. Olson at the Lutheran church east of Story City, Rev. Amuland performing the ceremony. To this union were born six children, five of whom are living. They are Mrs. Nellie Estrem, Oneil Olson, Mrs. Annie McGinnis, of Ames, and Misses Christina and Josie Olson.
Mrs. Olson was attending to her household duties as usual on Tuesday July 21, at five o'clock when her husband came in to get something, but when he came in for supper an hour later, she was lying on the floor. He picked her up and put her on the bed, but she gasped a couple times and she was dead. Her death was unexpected as it was sad and was a great shock to her friends and relatives.
The funeral was held last Friday from Bergen church, Rev. Smedal officiating, after which interment took place in the Roland cemetery. The sorrowing ones have the sympathy of their friends in the hour of their loss.
