Miss Carrie Ersland was born in Norway, May 27, 1872, and died at Mercy Hospital at Des Moines December 2, 1907, being 35 years, 6 months and 5 days old at her untimely death. She came to this country 13 years ago and has since made her home at this place. She was taken sick this summer with typhoid fever with which disease she battled for ten weeks, when she was finally summoned to the great beyond. She leaves four sisters and one brother to mourn her death. They are: Mrs. O. S. Haaland, of this place, Henry Ersland of Engevale, N. D., Mrs. R. K. Hovland of this place, Mrs. Tom Hill of Slayton, Minn., and Miss Lena Ersland, of Des Moines.

The funeral was held last Thursday from Bethel church at Story City, Rev. G. O. Paulsrud, of Randall, delivering the funeral sermon, after which interment took place in the Story City cemetery. Quite a few from here attended the funeral.

The bereaved ones have the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends in the hour of sorrow.
