Had Been a Patient Sufferer For a Couple Years and Death Finally Came and Relieved Him
O. H. Twedt was born near Lisbon, Ill., September 5, 1854, and died at his home south of town on Sunday, June 30, 1907, being 52 years, 9 months and 25 days old at the time of his death. The deceased had been sick the past two years and had been a patient sufferer until he was called into the Great Beyond.
When still but a young boy he came to Story County where he grew to manhood, and it was here that he was married to Miss Annie Liea in the spring of 1873. They moved the same spring to Emmet County and there and in Hancock County they lived until five years ago when they purchased the old Thompson homestead, four miles south of town, from Hans H. Olson.
Here he lived with his family, which consists of his wife, daughters Mrs. Jacob Twedt and Elizabeth, and son Oscar who mourn his death. Besides other relatives he leaves a stepmother, three sisters Mrs. Hattie D. Harlow, of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Jane Amdall, of Dallas, Wis., and Mrs. Julia Osem of near McCallsburg, and six brothers, Abel, Joe, Sam, Andrew, Henry, Johannes, all of whom live near here.
The funeral was held on Tuesday from Bergen church, Rev. G. Smedal performing the ceremony, after which the remains were interred in the Roland Cemetery.
