THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, April 6, 2010.

Maxine Virginia Hovick, 88, of Story City, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. Burial will follow in Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation of family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City.

Maxine Hovick was born July 3, 1921, to Miles and Jeanette (Wierson) Thorson, in Story City. She married Milo Hovick Feb. 22, 1939, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

She is survived by three daughters, Virginia (Charles) Egemo, of Story City, Darlene Kane, of Menlo, and Lorna (Bill) Brennan, of Emmetsburg; one son, Keith (Robin) Hovick, of Ellsworth; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Iona Lenning, of Ames; one brother-in-law, Donald Johnson, of Story City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Milo; one son, Rodney Hovick; one great-grandchild, Jacob; one sister, Mazel Johnson; and three brothers, Jefferies, Onel and Arle.

Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is assisting the family with arrangements.
