THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, April 1, 2010.

Roger Mosher Brown, 62, of Iowa City, passed away Monday, March 29, 2010, after an 18-month battle with cancer. Roger’s life will be celebrated privately by his family. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 4, 1947, in Ames, to Farwell and Ruth Ann (Mosher) Brown. After earning a bachelor’s degree in zoology from the University of Iowa, he worked as a lab assistant at Iowa State University and the University of Iowa. He then worked as a draftsman for the Department of Transportation. He was well read, was interested in the natural sciences and astronomy, and appreciated Iowa regional art.

He is survived by his parents, of Ames; one brother, Kendrick and wife, Bernie, of Raleigh, N.C.; two sisters, Mary Howard and husband, Robert Bataille, of Ames, and Catherine Tkacz and husband, Michael, of Spokane, Wash.; one niece, Jessica Sellner and husband, Daniel; and three nephews, David Howard and wife, Linda, Paul Howard and wife, Tiffani, and Zach Brown.

Memorials may be made to Iowa Hospice, 1919 Chestnut St., Muscatine, IA, 52761-3727.

Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
