THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, March 30, 2010.

Betty Jean (Mattingly) Tjemeland, 72, of Roland, died at her home Saturday, March 27, 2010. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 1, at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg. Burial will be in Roland Cemetery.

Visitation of family and friends will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Betty was born Aug. 23, 1937, in Ames, to Alvin and Pauline (Beal) Mattingly. She married Dwayne Tjelmeland Oct. 7, 1956.

She is survived by her husband, Dwayne, of Roland; one son, Douglas Tjelmeland, of Emmetsburg, Pa.; one sister, Bonnie Bishop, of Des Moines; and three grandchildren, Welcome Noah Tjelmeland, Prosper Vire Tjelmeland, and Grace Valentine Tjelmeland.

Memorials may be designated to Wesley Hospice.
